George Massey Tunnel Bicycle Shuttle

The George Massey tunnel connects Ladner with Richmond.
There is a free shuttle service for bicycles and their riders through the George Massey Tunnel is available through Mainroad Contracting (604-881-4140). The scheduled service is
normally available between April and October,
but has just recently been
extended to continue all through fall and winter, right up to April again!
Here's what the October 2008 press release says:
To encourage cycling, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has extended the George Massey Tunnel Bicycle Shuttle to operate through the winter months. The service will be provided for the weekday AM and PM peak times. This service will also be available on Remembrance Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday. The service will not be provided on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day. This is a trial of this service and it will be evaluated at the end of the season.
The shuttle van holds up to 7 passengers (without luggage) and a driver. The trailer accommodates up to 8 standard, unloaded bikes. If there are more than 7 passengers, the driver will return to pick up the overflow.
Pick-up for
northbound transport through the tunnel is on the north side of Highway #17/River Road, east of Highway #99 fronting the Delta Town and Country Inn.
Pick-up for
southbound transport is on the service road east of Highway 99, north of Rice Mill Road. Access via No. 5 Road and Rice Mill Road.

These schedules are in effect until further notice:
Weekdays only October 14th to April 24th;
Includes Remembrance Day (Nov. 11th), Good Friday (Apr. 10th) and Easter Monday
(Apr. 13th).
Service does not include weekends, Christmas Day, Boxing Day or
New Years Day.
